Why Your Story Matters

Most men never get told this: your story matters. Not because it is impressive. Not because it is clean. Because it is not only your story.

The adversity you are carrying — disconnected marriage, resentment, priorities out of whack, lost authority under your own roof, not being the parent your children deserved, health crisis, financial duress, the food bank, the child who needs more than you feel you have to give — that storm is not private. Your family is already inside it.

That is not shame. That is why it matters.

If the story is bigger than you, then who you are today is not the end.

Who you are is not who you have to be.

Life is about who you are becoming.

Men who want to lead, love, and inspire their families do not wake up and decide to drift. They do not plan to become unreliable. And yet it still happens. Anything done without intention is still a choice. Unintentional living is still living — it is just outsourced to pressure.

Quincy is workshopping this as a keynote in front of the home team. Man vs Marriage is transforming into Family Famous: reaching and teaching men to be famous where it matters most — at home. That is your first ministry. The book Becoming Family Famous comes in October.

He introduces himself as a husband to Jeannie (27 years), father of eight, former football coach, former associate pastor, host of this podcast. He facilitates opportunities for men who want to change but do not know where to start — because he used to be that man.

Why listen is not the resume. Listen because he knows the house you are sitting in: marriage in survival mode, short on intimacy, heavy with resentment, lost authority, 380+ pounds, chronic pain. By grace and intentional living, change is possible. That is testimonial, not theory.

The decision question:

Which are you more committed to — who you are and the cycles you remain in, or who you are becoming?

Waiting to feel ready is an excuse. Take authority back immediately. You do not have to be perfect to be trusted. You have to be predictable in the right direction. Families do not need Hollywood superheroes. They need men who show up again tomorrow.

This is not about beating yourself up. It is about telling yourself the truth and doing something with it.

Decide to be famous where it matters most. At home. Surrender to the Creator, to Jesus Christ, and join the journey.

Questionnaire

  1. Where is my family already living inside a storm I have been treating as private?
  2. Which am I more committed to — who I am and my cycles, or who I am becoming?
  3. Where have I been waiting to feel ready?
  4. Am I predictable in the right direction?
  5. Who in my house needs me to show up again tomorrow?

A Family Man! A Happily married man however that happiness hasn't always come easy. After 10 years of marriage and 8 children with numerous medical emergencies and family tragedy we had become roommates. Fast forward 10 years and we have become closer than either of us had ever known possible. After this amazing transformation thanks to our marriage coach Rita Enos, my wife and I decided to give back to the entire Human Race and give Men the opportunity to decide "How Good do you want your life/Marriage to be"? I am hardwired to inspire because it gives me life! It was only natural that I take this desire to inspire and my incredibly handsome face for radio to make a difference like I have experience in my own life.
